Special Needs Assistant Training

Participant Profile:
This course is designed for those who are working or planning to work with children with special needs.

The course will run for 18 weeks one night a week plus 3 full Saturdays. Students are required to complete 30 hours work experience with a special needs child over the term, it is up to each individual student to find a placement. Garda clearance will be required prior to completing work experience.

Froebel and College of Progressive Education certificate in Special Needs Assistant Training

 

 

Course Provider:
The course is provided by the College of Progressive Education, formerly know as The School of Practical Childcare. The college was founded in 1996 and is now the largest private college in Ireland.

Accreditation:
FETAC awards are placed within the National Framework of qualifications.  This framework includes further and higher education and training awards.  This will greatly extend opportunities for access, transfer and progression for all learners.

Froebel College of Education, Sion Hill, established by the Dominican Order, is one of the five Colleges in the Republic of Ireland recognized by the Department of Education and Science for the training and education of primary school teachers.  Froebel College awards the degree of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) and the Higher Diploma in Education (Primary Teaching).
