Intellectual Disability Studies Participant Profile: This course is suitable for people who want to work in the care environment, e.g. a residential care centre or day care facility. It is also suitable for those already working in this environment but wish to obtain certification. Course Content: · Learners who successfully complete this module will:Understand the concept of intellectual disability and its contexts.Be familiar with national and local models of services for peoplewith intellectual disability and their families.Demonstrate good work practices in the provision of holistic care for people with intellectual disability and their familiesBe able to meet the full range of needs of people with intellectual disability in a variety of settings and across the full lifespan.
