Description

The world of nursing offers a rewarding career dedicated to patient care. This comprehensive Nursing Theory and Practice module equips you with the foundational knowledge and practical skills to excel in this dynamic field. Over conveniently spaced evenings, we'll delve into the fascinating history of nursing as a profession, exploring its evolution and core values. We'll also explore the intricate structure of healthcare in Ireland, analysing the functions of different departments and specialties, along with the impact of European Union directives on nursing practice.

The course delves into the heart of patient care: the nursing process. You'll understand the crucial stages of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, learning how they translate into providing compassionate and effective care for your patients. Upholding ethical standards is paramount, and we'll explore the Code of Practice for nurses, ensuring you deliver care aligned with professional guidelines. Essential daily living activities are a key focus, as you learn how to assist patients with tasks like bathing, dressing, and maintaining hygiene.
