Irish for the Leaving Cert for Mature Students

This class is specifically designed for students who want to improve the grade that they achieved previously in Irish so that they can achieve entry into a number of courses where a minimum grade of H4 is required. These are typically Primary level Teaching Qualifications. You will need to have studied Irish to leaving certificate previously to attend this class.

This class is divided into 2 sections

Monday Night   7- 9.30 pm

Focused on Leaving Cert Oral Examination or the Hibernia College Irish Interview.

Wednesday Night  7- 9.30 pm

Focused on Leaving Cert Higher Level Written Exam Paper

Tutor: Daniel Sinnott

The class is scheduled to run for 28 weeks and will finish in May, just before you sit the written Leaving Certificate examination.

The fee of €695 is spread out in instalments over the year.

Registering with the State Examinations Commission (SEC)

You will be accommodated in Gorey Community School as a mature student to sit your Leaving Cert Exam in June.

As an external candidate, you apply in January to the SEC indicating Gorey Community School as your centre to sit the examination.

There will be an additional fee – (this was €116 in 2019) - to be paid directly to the SEC.
