Drawing for beginners and learners – with Mary Reynolds

Learn how to draw or improve your drawing skills on this one-day Saturday workshop that focuses on drawing.

Topics covered will include - line quality, composition, and shading, and how to see the subject matter.

Students will experiment with a variety of drawing materials, and be encouraged to express their own unique style.

During the workshop, students practice quick sketches, and more detailed drawings.

In a creative relaxed atmosphere, you will be encouraged at every stage.

Morning and afternoon sessions, with breaks, and a lunch break.





Please bring with any of the following: pencils (lead, coloured, aqua), charcoal, oil or/and chalk pastel, conté, and paints (acrylic and watercolour, no oil paints), pen and ink, sharpies, or markers.

You will need:

Newsprint: 12 sheets

A Pad of cartridge paper, or loose sheets of cartridge paper, A4, A3, A2.

Sugar paper.

If drawing with paint, please bring prepared (gessoed) MDF/PLY, or a prepared canvas board, or canvas, and whatever else you need.



If you have an idea for a drawing, bring it with you.

Your Tutor

Mary Reynolds has years of experience in art and design, graduated from CCAD in painting, and from UCD in History of European Art. Mary Reynolds is the creator and tutor of the Painting like the Masters, and tutors Art Beginners and Art Café (summer term) in Gorey Community School.
