Painting Like the Masters & Art Cafe

Category: Leisure & Hobbies

This term, the course will combine the Painting like the Masters (PLTM) and Art Café on the same evening.

This means that students can attend for PLTM, or can attend and paint their own project.

This course will run on TUESDAY nights for 10 weeks.

Painting like the Masters (PLTM)

PLTM students will be presented with a number of carefully chosen artists' paintings during the term. You will make your own copies of these paintings.

The focus this term is on landscapes, still life, streetscape, etc.

The PLTM approach is a great way to learn painting, as well as get to know various artists life and times.

Art Cafe

Students who want to paint their own subject, will get tuition in how to get the best result.

All students have complete freedom to paint as they wish, and at their own pace.

During the course, you will learn about choosing a subject, about composition, drawing, colour, texture, and of course, art materials.

The class atmosphere is relaxed, and you will receive encouragement and guidance.

This term, students will have room to spread out in two interconnecting art rooms.

What you will need

Please bring your acrylic paints (no oil paints) brushes, etc. and an easel if you have one.

Mary Reynolds graduated from CCAD in painting, and from UCD in History of European painting.
