Selecting and Caring for Indoor Plants

This course will help you to select the appropriate indoor plants for different indoor spaces. It will also give the knowledge you need to maintain healthy indoor plants.

The first four classes will cover:

  • The air purifying qualities of indoor plants and the therapeutic benefit of having plants indoors
  • The importance of the correct level of light, humidity and temperature.
  • General rules regarding watering as well as some plant-specific requirements
  • Plant details including origin, height, width, growth requirements and how to care for 20 of the most popular indoor plants
  • Interior landscaping – how to make the most of designing with indoor plants

The final class will be a visit to a garden centre or nursery specialising in indoor plants and will give the chance to use the knowledge gained in the first four classes.
