Radio Production Workshop

Category: Skills

Number of participants: 10   |   Duration: 5 weeks

Dates: From Saturday 11th November to Saturday 8th December.   |   Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.radio production

Fee: €150

Tutor: Mayte Gonzalez, Mediaskool

The aim of the workshop is to gain hands-on experience in the production of a radio programme that will be recorded as live. The duration of the radio programme depends on the content produced by the participants.

The participants will have the opportunity to work with the mixing desk, record and edit audio, explore the roles of presenter, interviewer, researcher or producer through a series of exercises.

This is a great opportunity to record a quality audio file (podcast) that can be used in a number of different platforms e.g. a voice, a story, an interview with a member of the community.

The workshop will also explore how to insert the audio file in a video format suitable to upload to YouTube (terms and conditions apply).

The participants will have access to their recorded files at the end.

All materials are provided for the first four sessions but ideally participants would need a laptop for the video exercise in the last session. Advice regarding software will be provided.

This is an exciting experience where all the participants will have made a contribution to the radio programme created.  It is based on teamwork and hands on experience and it gives a sense of achievement to all involved.
